I think the aggression feature on Distraction was not needed at all. I can see why you would think it can be useful but half of the situations when it's used it's either for unfair mob stealing, provoking Bosses/Elites away from the Parties that were working hard on them or it will backfire when using as an initiation against too many, higher than you or strong mobs during a mob lure (Solo Dungeons for example - I get yelled at for not using distraction during a large lure but if I do use it I'll be the first to die from focused burst damage) unless you are using a tank build or you have a tank with you ready to using Battle shout as soon as the effects of Distraction end.
The reason why Warriors benefit from Aggression is because of Fury which allows them to make certain abilities stronger, tanking damage helps them stack armor (Crusaders), or gain health back over time (Dark Knight's Invigoration + Rampant Anger), the ability to redirect a Boss/Elite's attention to protect less tanky units - They are built for it.
Distraction has 2 forced purposes now - disable for initiation/escape and aggression. They both go well together if you are using an evasion or tank build ... which I'd like to say is less than 15% of the players who main Thief on our server.
So what ends up happening is players who use it as initiation and escape are forced to play with a handicap knowing they will have to run if they don't have the proper build, gear or communication with a party and players who can exploit the aggression in terms of bosses and elites.
I get it, it some situations where a Thief is in a party and is trying to protect weaker party members from stronger mobs with aggression is understandable, but the thing is Thief has ALWAYS had enough damage to redirect any mob's attention.
The most common argument I can think of it "Well thief has too good disables" - Yes, that is true, but Thieves are also Melee meaning they are more likely going to die from mob aggression or Boss/Elite attention than any ranged class, they are already heavier position based than most classes and with a lack of strong escape. Still I see Thief as a much better class with all the changes ,but
... I just ... don't understand this feature, none of those problems happened before the aggresssion was added to the Distraction skill ... just why would you force it?
I can understand the changes to the Critical Chance, I can understand relocation of talents, I can understand the need to upgrade both weapons if you have a 2 weapons play style with Thief, but why the Aggression feature on Distraction? If anything it should be optional, you know like if you use disctraction and use it again during the disable then the aggression will take effect and then the skill will go on cooldown.
Can someone, ANYONE just explain or have a debate with me on this. Maybe I'm mistaken or I do not see the benefit from it ... just any reply would help.
