These Rules regulate a player's behavior and obligations in Royal Quest ('The Game'), the Official Royal Quest Forum and the Steam Community Pages, Arc Community Pages and Forum on Steam, Arc and other official media.
Continuation to play Royal Quest implies consent to these Rules, Terms and Conditions and they are binding on you, your game play and any participation in our Forum and/or Community Pages. If you cannot accept any of these Rules, Terms and Conditions, you must cease playing Royal Quest.
The Game is managed by 1C Online Games Ltd. The purpose of having Rules is to make every player's in-game experience fair and pleasant, and obligatory to each and every player in The Game.
We reserve the right to update the Rules, Terms and Conditions at any time. When we do so, we will provide access to the new Rules, Terms and Conditions on the Site home page and in the official Royal Quest Forum. The new Terms and Conditions will take effect immediately, and will govern all transactions with us through the Site. If you do not agree with the new version of the Rules, Terms and Conditions, you must cease to use the Site.
1. General Provisions
1.1 Players are obliged to follow all rules and restrictions mentioned in Game Rules, End User License Agreements of The Game and those of our Partners, Naming Rules and Forum and Website Rules.
1.2 Players are requested to respect other players' right to participate in the Game and obliged not to create any kind of situations affecting other players' ability to play the Game.
1.3 Administration of the Game is not responsible for players' expressions in in-game chats and mail, and cannot be held responsible for any consequences caused by players' communications.
1.4 Players are obliged to follow the laws of their respective countries or places of residence. Administration of the Game and cannot be held responsible in case players violate their local laws.
1.5 The language of the Game is English. Technical support is provided in English only.
2. Restricted activities
2.1 Royal Quest Accounts:
2.1.1 Account Buying
It is expressly forbidden for a player to Buy or attempting to buy game characters or any partners' Accounts with actual real world currencies or real-life tradeable commodities either within the game or external to it. Expressing an interest to buy or attempting to buy Royal Quest Account either within the game or external to it is considered as an express intention to do so.
2.1.2 Account Selling
It is expressly forbidden for a player to Sell or attempting to sell game characters or any partners' Accounts with actual real world currencies or real-life tradeable commodities either within the game or external to it. Expressing an interest to sell or attempting to sell Royal Quest Account either within the game or external to it is considered as an express intention to do so.
2.1.3 Account Sharing
It is expressly forbidden for a player to provide registration information regarding their Royal Quest Account for the express purpose of giving a player other than themselves temporary or permanent access to their account irrespective of there being a consideration of in-game or real world tradeable commodities or not. If you are letting someone else use your account to play the game, we reserve the right to compare originating IP addresses of players and other related in-game or off-game data and information to determine whether multiple users are accessing a certain Royal Quest account or Steam Account. If we suspect you are participating in account sharing, then all parties to the share, including other game accounts they may have with Royal Quest will be considered in breach of these Rules.
Penalty: Suspension from game play for a period up to 5 years for all players found to be Account Sharing / Trading / Selling and other measures suitable.
2.2 Trading and Gifting
It is regarded as a breach of these rules if you are found or suspected on reasonable grounds of:
2.2.1: Selling or attempting to sell game items, in-game currencies and tokens for actual real world currencies or real-life tradable commodities either within the game or external to it. Expressing an interest to sell or attempting to sell such in-game commodities either within the game or external to it is considered as an express intention to do so.
2.2.2 Buying or attempting to buy game items, in-game currencies and tokens with actual real world currencies or real-life tradeable commodities either within the game or external to it. Expressing an interest to buy or attempting to buy such in-game commodities either within the game or external to it is considered as an express intention to do so.
Penalty: Suspension from game play for a period up to 5 years.
2.3 Automation of Play: Creating, disseminating, publicizing and/or using bot software or hardware allowing automating gameplay or emulating the presence of the player in game by any means;
Penalty: Suspension from game play for a period up to 5 years.
2.4 Exploits: Using bugs (program errors) to your advantage and/or in harmful way. If you encounter a bug, you are expected to report it to Support Team of the game immediately;
Penalty: Suspension of game play for a period of between 30 days and 5 years depending upon the severity of infractions.
2.5 Payments: Revocation of successful payments, including Refund, Return, Chargeback, etc;
Penalty: Suspension from game play for a period up to 5 years and removal of all playing characters and items.
2.6 Discrediting: You agree not to proliferate rumors, slander, or other information discrediting the Game, its Administration, or other players in-game or external to the game. If you become aware of any malpractice or infringement of these Rules you are expected to report these using the in-game Technical Support system. In an emergency you may talk in confidence to a Moderator or Community Manager either via In-game Chat or a Forum mail;
Penalty: Suspension of game play for a period of between 7 days and 5 years depending upon the severity of infractions.
2.7 In-game Chat:
2.7.1 Spamming. You should try to limit your conversations to in-game aspects and disseminating or attempting to disseminate off-game information is not permitted. This includes persistent use of conversation that might be construed as being recognizable spam.
Penalty: Suspension, without notice, of access to Chat for 15 minutes. If the breach repeats immediately or soon after end of the chat silence period player gets 30 minutes suspension of access to Chat. Player who gets 6 and more hours of chat silence in total during the day is reported to Administration for further investigation.
2.7.2 Flooding. In-game chat should not repeat the same or broadly similar text more than three times in any approximate ten minute period.
Penalty: Suspension, without notice, of access to Chat for 15 minutes. If the breach repeats immediately or soon after end of the chat silence period player gets 30 minutes suspension of access to Chat. Player who gets 6 and more hours of chat silence in total during the day is reported to Administration for further investigation.
2.7.3 Shouting. Persistent use of CAPITALS or inappropriate ASCII characters in chat is not permitted.
Penalty: Suspension, without notice, of access to Chat for 7 minutes. If the breach repeats immediately or soon after end of the chat silence period player gets 15 minutes suspension of access to Chat. Player who gets 6 and more hours of chat silence in total during the day is reported to Administration for further investigation.
2.8 Flaming & Offensive words & phrases. It is strictly forbidden to use obscenities, profanities, insults, threats of violence, drugs advertising, pornography advertising, advertising of 3rd-party sites or other informational resources contained such advertising and/or information, racism advocacy, religious propaganda of any kind, sexual, gender, racial or ideological harassment of any kind in any communication systems in or related to the Game and these WILL NOT BE TOLERATED;
Penalty: Suspension, without notice, of access to Chat for 30 minutes. If the breach repeats immediately or soon after end of the chat silence period player gets 1 hour suspension of access to Chat. Player who gets 6 and more hours of chat silence in total during the day is reported to Administration for further investigation.
Warning: If any of breaches listed below is committed with use of Horn corresponding penalty period doubles.
2.9 Intentional impediment of other players' ability to enter and/or properly play the game
Penalty: Suspension from game play for a period up to 5 years.
2.10 Using and/or advertising malicious software including viruses, Trojans, worms and other programs which may cause harm to other players' hardware or data;
Penalty: Suspension from game play for a period up to 5 years and removal of all playing characters and items.
2.11 Posing as Administration of the Game or its partners;
Penalty: Suspension from game play for a period up to 5 years.
2.12 Confidential Information
It is expressly forbidden to seek to obtain or attempt to obtain and further distribute confidential information including using or obtaining information that might allow someone other than a registered player to get access to a players' account and personal data or administrative accounts and data in game or game website, including advertising on third party web-sites or other informational resources containing such information. Players agree to keep all login details and passwords confidential to themselves and never give these details to any other person. A Moderator, Community Manager or Gamesmaster will NEVER ask you for your login details or password for the Game or partners' accounts access. If you think your Account has been compromised, immediately change your password to access The Game and any ancillary codes or passwords needed to access The Game and notify Administration through the Support Ticket System detailed below.
Penalty: Suspension from game play for a period up to 5 years.
2.13 Hacking: You must not attempt to hack, modify or intercept client/server data flow, modify or decompile the game client, attempt to get control over game servers or make them unavailable or seek to interfere with the proper working of The Game and, in particular, you must not attempt to circumvent security, tamper with, hack into, or otherwise disrupt the Game or any computer system, server, router or any other internet-connected device of any person or organization involved in developing, administering or playing the Game;
Penalty: Suspension from game play for a period up to 5 years and removal of all playing characters and items.
2.14 Copyright & Intellectual Property:
2.14.1 You shall not act to or encourage others in falsifying, removing or disabling any copyright information, in particular reference to the author, legal acknowledgment of copyright and other similar messages or instructions, as well as the level of the origin or source of software or other content.
2.14.2 You agree that you will not, under any circumstances (except to the extent expressly authorized by these Terms): Reproduce, duplicate, copy, sell, trade, resell or exploit for any commercial purpose any portion of the Game, Forum or Community Pages, Services (including your Account), Game Materials, or access to or use of the Website, Services or Game Materials;
Penalty: Suspension from game play for a period up to 5 years.
2.15 Fraud, Theft & Scamming: Fraud and intentional deception of players when making in-game transactions: sending forged correspondence (mail or messages), forgery when trading, failing to remit payment, seeking to obtain payment through the game mail system for items not requested by a player, requesting a player to give items ‘for examination’ and then stealing them and other breaches of trust players within the gaming community to obtain benefits. If you have been a victim of such practices, you should immediately raise a Support ticket and take screenshots to validate your complaint under this section. You are however considered responsible for your own actions and if you fall prey to a player acting fraudulently, whilst we may take action against such individuals, we cannot return items or in-game currency that has been obtained by unfair practices. Please only transact sales and purchases from official systems (markets, person to person trade and Cash on Delivery mail. If you do not understand what is being asked of you, please do not participate in such illicit transactions;
Penalty: Suspension of game play for a period of between 30 days and 1 year depending upon the severity of infractions.
2.16 Guild and Character Names: It is strictly forbidden to use obscene, insulting or unpronounceable Character or Guild names or names discrediting the Game, its Administration, or other players. Full list of Naming Rules can be found on Royal Quest website.
Penalty: Forced rename of character / guild or Suspension of game play for a period of between 30 days and 5 years depending upon the severity of infractions. Systematic violating of these Rules by members of the same Guild might entail sanctions to the Guild as a whole, including associated Guilds, up to disbanding Guild(s) and blocking all their members (Item 5.3).
3. Administration
3.1 Management: In-game chat, Forum and Community pages are administered by Gamesmasters, Community Managers and Moderators who have the ability to issue penalties to those infringing these Rules, Terms and Conditions;
3.2 Moderators are always happy to help players get the most out of the Game and you may report in-game chat infractions to them, but major infringements of these Rules, Terms and Conditions MUST be reported through the In-Game Support Ticket System accessed by the Help button in the Bottom Right of your playing screen.
3.3 Adjudication: Moderators and Community Managers act impartially and in the interests of players and the Developers of The Game and have the right to determine whether a player has breached these Rules in-game or on the Forum or Community Pages and their decision is final. Arguing with a Moderator is inadvisable. If a Major Breach of the Rules has been committed by a player or a group of players, Moderators may refer such players to the Community Manager or Gamesmasters for further penalties and without any notification being given to those players involved in any Rule Breach.
3.4 Undue Influence: Moderators, Community Managers and Gamesmasters are identifiable by their ability to use the Horn on In-Game Chat but may use any one of their in-game characters whilst performing their duties. Anyone seeking to impersonate or exert or seek to exert undue influence, or threaten any Administrator will be referred to the Community Manager and/or Gamemasters for further penalty. The penalties for attempting to threaten or exert undue influence on or seek to obtain an unfair advantage from an Administrator are severe.
4. Reporting Rule Breaches
4.1 If you experience or witness any potential breach of the above rules, you are encouraged to report it, ideally with supporting unedited PrintScreen copies of any infractions, through the Official Technical Support Ticket System.
4.2 In an emergency, you may contact a Moderator, if online at the time, to report the incident so they may also investigate it on the spot, but you must also report it through the Technical Support Ticket System. Your report will be treated in confidence and your name will not be referred to in any correspondence with the offender without your permission unless it is necessary in that you are a maligned party in the incident e.g. has items stolen or you have been defrauded.
4.3 If you believe you may yourself have committed a breach of one of these rules inadvertently, we encourage you to report it and we will take your admission into account and try to deal with the incident more leniently than had we found out by ourselves.
4.4 In matter relating to theft or scamming, our in-game procedures, if followed, preclude anyone being able to steal or scam an in-game commodity from you. Most theft or scams are due to a player being over-trusting or disregarding official means of transacting in-game commodities. Whilst we may take action against a player seeking to defraud or steal from another player, we will not return any items stolen or defrauded from you.
4.5 We reserve the right to pay a modest in-game reward at our discretion to people reporting rule breaches that might allow us to track down those players with serious intent upon breaching these rules but we do not encourage those with a grudge against another player to make malicious allegations about them since this might have consequences for you and your own game play.
5. Consequences
5.1 Administration of the games reserves the right to judge any given event of breach of these Rules at its sole discretion;
5.2 In case of breaching these Rules, Administration might, at its sole discretion, impose sanctions as specified in the above sections which can also include:
- Restricting access to in-game chats, forum or community pages;
- Forced rename of character, guild, pet, trading spots or other in-game entities;
- Confiscation of items, gold, or hard currency from a character or your account;
- Disallowing participation or the winning of prizes for any competition run in-game or in the Forum;
- Placing access restrictions to your account;
- Complete removal of characters or accounts;
- Blocking IP Addresses;
5.3 Systematic violating of these Rules by members of the same Guild might entail sanctions to the Guild as a whole, including associated Guilds, up to disbanding Guild(s) and blocking all their members;
5.4 Appeals against Imposed Sanctions
5.4.1 You can appeal a decision made to ban you from access to the Game, Forum and Community Pages but this must be done in a timely manner and within 7 calendar days of a ban being issued.
5.4.2 All and every question or appeal regarding legality and/or appropriateness of these Rules and/or imposed sanctions must be filed through the Technical Support Ticket System;
5.4.3 In case of discussion of imposed sanctions only personal appeals will be considered. Appeals filed by third parties will be ignored.
5.4.4 You may include screenshots to support your appeal but these must fulfil the following requirements:
- Screenshots must be made by pressing the «Print Screen» button. Changing the name, size or file format is prohibited. Screenshots made by third-party programs cannot be considered since they could have been tampered with.
- The screenshot file date must be dated no later than 7 days after an incident otherwise they may be disregarded as mitigation and/or evidence.
- Where issues revolve around in-game conversation between parties, then Screenshots must be made with a fully expanded chat to capture the entire conversation.
5.4.5 All appeals are at the discretion of Administration and may result in no change to the original decision, revising the decision by imposing a lower penalty or sanction or in some circumstances increasing the penalty originally administered.
5.4.6 Appeals will be considered by Administration within a period of 10 working days from the date of the last piece of evidence supplied.
5.4.7 Appeal decisions are final and subsequent appeals, formal or informal, will not be considered. Persistent ‘pestering’ of any member of Administration following an appeal or appeal decision will be regarded as hostile and you may experience further or additional sanctions being applied to your account.
